In our recent election, many Americans voted for a Savior, not a president.


Americans were enamored with the idea of making history in this election, and in that sense we have gotten what we wanted. Unfortunately, Barack Obama is the wrong man, and this is definitely the wrong time.


In fact, the timing couldn't be worse. We have in recent years vastly expanded the powers and autonomy of the Executive Branch, removing checks and balances along the way. Owing in part to well-intentioned conservative attempts to more effectively fight Islamic terrorism, the machinery of US dictatorship is already in place. Security measures like The Patriot Act, the Military Commissions Act, recent revisions of the Posse Commitatus Act, and National Presidential Directive 51 have all served to strengthen our national security in the short term, but with long-term threats to our individual liberties and great risk of abuse in the wrong hands. Now we have handed this power over to the most unabashedly leftist radical ever to hold Presidential office.


America is now seeing the results of its own revolution, a peaceful November Revolution unlike Russia's of almost a century ago, responding to multiple staged crises with pleas for our new leader to save us from ourselves. Our leader is ready and willing, and we have given President Obama the keys to the kingdom. Many of us warned of the dangers of expanding presidential powers, arguing that what might work under a trustworthy administration might be dangerous in the hands of an unscrupulous one. But even we could not have imagined the speed with which our most dire warnings might come true. Had Obama's ascendency been foreseen, we'd have won that argument hands-down. He's the poster-child for the worst case scenario.


Barack Obama has shown remarkable skill in manipulating domestic events and creating artificial crises to enhance his own power. And what he plans to do with that power, evidenced by his own words and actions, is alarming.


Obama's most transparent strategy, about which much has been written, is to cement American citizens' economic dependence on the government, and therefore on him. In order to achieve this, Obama has deepened and prolonged an otherwise fixable economic crisis, creating menacing conditions for social disintegration and chaos. His tax policies and private sector takeovers ensure jobless rates that will rival those of the Depression era, greatly increasing the number of individuals who will look to government for their survival.



But Obama's strategies go far beyond mere economic control.


"We cannot continue to rely on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives we've set. We've got to have a civilian national security force that's just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded."


Obama has followed through on this pledge, and with the passage of H.R. 1388 the Obama youth corps has been born, with a stated purpose to "combine the best practices of civilian service with the best aspects of military service." The bill mandates that 50 percent of the new corps will be comprised of "disadvantaged youths," including high-school drop-outs, those with limited English proficiency, and those with criminal records. No offense to these disadvantaged youths, but won't this dramatically increase the probability that armed groups of malcontents with grudges against America will be policing the streets under the guise of "disaster relief?"


Add Obama's willingness to take away citizens' use of guns for self defense, and the possibility of reinstating the Clinton assault weapons ban, and suddenly the words "it can't happen here" ring hollow.


There are telling patterns in Obama's methods, such as his repeated willingness to utilize tactics of intimidation. His abuses of power against Stephen Pidgeon and Orly Taitz, plaintiffs' attorneys in his citizenship eligibility case, have been remarkably brazen. As have the steps he's taken to fund and support ACORN's widely acknowledged abuses.


Obama is also moving quickly to fundamentally alter our educational system. As Vladmir Lenin once remarked, "Give me...the children and the seed I have sown will never be uprooted." Obama is making Orwellian calls for "cradle to career" education, much longer school days, and live-in state officials to "prepare" the minds of our children. Prepare them for what? Phonics? Red herrings like the "give us more time" argument divert attention away from the real objective: driving a wedge between children and their parents.

The President has also begun an aggressive campaign against free speech, moving to ramrod a bill through Congress that will nationalize the press. This move is in addition to the united assault from those on the Left seeking a resurrection of the "Fairness Doctrine." And now a new bill introduced by Sen. Jay Rockefeller (D-WV) will give the President the legal authority to shutdown the internet in the "interest of national security," a limitless grant of power.

If our new President can go this far this fast in subverting the First Amendment, can attacks on political opponents be far off? If you think this is alarmist overstatement, note that Homeland Security is already all but labeling Rep. Ron Paul (R-TX) a potential domestic terrorist, along with millions of Americans concerned about abortion, immigration, and other issues.

The President has unconstitutionally targeted specific individuals with a 90 percent tax, and boldly intruded into the private sector, firing the head of a private sector company. After bank CEOs met recently with the President he remarked, "My administration is the only thing between you and the pitchforks." The President doesn't jest. AIG executives received countless death threats in the bonus furor. How can a sitting American President get away with threatening the heads of private businesses with even figurative "pitchforks?"


President Obama has even begun making preparations for martial law, stationing 80,000 troops in the US as a part of his new "Consequence Management Response Force" to deal with the domestic upheaval and strategic social chaos caused by mass unemployment and a vacuum of public morality.


In a great twist of irony, his blatant violation of laws restricting the domestic use of the US military was made possible by the convenient revisions of the Posse Commitatus Act under the Bush Administration. Now the man of the hour is Barack Obama, and he is looking for an opportunity to cross the Rubicon.


Barack Obama is now the most powerful man in the world. We must work tirelessly, through all available legal and political means, to reverse the policies that have placed such unprecedented power in the hands of this one man.

Obama: What Is It That You Do Not Understand?

At the G20 summit, President Obama once again repeated the same mantra, “The United States wants the Islamic Republic of Iran to take its rightful place in the community of nations.” Apparently, the White House staff does not read my articles so President Obama continues to parrot the same mantra everywhere he goes.

Mr. President, you are either extremely naïve, (as we suspected you would be) you lack foreign policy experience, or you are just ignorant. You are not even a classic orator as many people have suggested you are, like former President, JFK.
At best, I describe you as the greatest reader from a teleprompter. Without this device, you seem completely at a loss for words. Here I give our former president, George W. Bush credit. Although he lacked public speaking ability, at least when he spoke, he spoke from the heart.

OK, let us get back to the situation in Iran. Mr. President, the Iranian people do not recognize the Islamic Republic as a country, but call these terrorists occupiers who must leave Iran or to be crushed decisively by hook or by crook. President Obama, what is it that you do not understand? Why is it so difficult for you to comprehend that the Islamic regime is a terrorist entity and the Iranian nation is fed up with them? Nothing less than an overthrow of this bloodthirsty regime is acceptable to millions of Iranians.

Since 1979, this illegitimate government of “Allah” has been waging a brutal war against the entire population of Iran who has been fighting for individual and religious freedom for many years. Millions of Iranians have been hanged, butchered or are dying in prison. Iranians, of all people, have truly come to taste and experience the true fruits of Islam and most of them want to end this barbaric cult of Muhammad in Iran sooner rather later. We simply ask you stop appeasing the Islamists all over the world and given them legitimacy. That was not why you were elected.

Mr. President, Iranian people want you to stop appeasing the mullahs and are asking the world to file legal charges against the leaders of the Islamic Republic for wanton violation of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The charges would be for their crimes against humanity and genocidal actions against religious and political groups, for support of international terrorism, for demolition of religious sites and cemeteries, for rape, torture, and summary executions of prisoners of conscience, for forgery of documents, for acts of blackmail and fraud, and for much much more.

Mr. President, “Change, Yes We Can,” was not about changing America to Socialism, Communism or Marxism and appeasement or softening your tone about the Taliban or Muslim extremists. It was not about emptying out our treasury department and writing hot checks as though it belongs to you.

Only a person who has no allegiance to the United States constitution would terrify Americans with anti-American agendas, one after another, and create fear in the hearts of the American people. Did you know that the number one selling items in America are now guns and ammunition? Guns are selling like hotcakes, so fast that gunmakers cannot keep up. BUT WHY? Who said you could not stimulate the economy? Maybe you need to read for yourself.

President Obama’s plan undermines the most powerful motive for wealth production: incentive. It is the incentive that makes a person work hard to provide for his own and his family’s living, and secure his financial future. Society after society has tried and failed the economic solution of “spreading the wealth around.” It doesn’t work. All it does is to discourage the hard-working and rewards the slothful. It is suicidal to buy into that failed policy, and that’s exactly where President Obama aims to take us and this is a dangerous scheme with both houses on his side.


In his recent trip to London for G20 summit, President Obama was reaching out to shake the hand of King Abdullah, one of the leading men of terror in our current life. Saudi Arabia is a hub for terrorism. Seventeen terrorists out of nineteen terrorists on the 11 September 2001 attacks were from Saudi Arabia, supposedly our friend and ally. Here is the travesty, the most powerful man on earth bends over and bows deeply to Saudis’ King Abdullah, who is well known for his support of Wahhabi Islamism all over the world. Go figure! After All, Saudi Arabia is a place where Prophet Muhammad was born and it is where he unleashed his dogma of Islamic terrorism, the Quran.

Quran 8:12 "I shall terrorize the infidels. So wound their bodies and incapacitate them because they oppose Allah and His Apostle."

Quran 33:26 "Allah made the Jews leave their homes by terrorizing them so that you killed some and made many captive. And He made you inherit their lands, their homes, and their wealth. He gave you a country you had not traversed before."

Mr. President, many Americans are still in shock by your action at the G20 summit. American Presidents do not bow to any monarchs from any country, period. Your appearance looked submissive, insulting to millions of Americans and treacherous at worst. Your naiveté is really making it difficult for Americans to like you. Even among your completely brainwashed fans and, should I dare to say, some media zombies like Keith Olbermann and Chris Matthews too!

And now, the Saudi King’s petrodollar, along with other 56 member nations of the Organization of the Islamic Conference are pressuring the United Nations to pass a universal law prescribing imprisonment for criticizing Islam, an ideology of terror. The Cairo declaration states "that all rights are subject to Shari’a law, and makes Shari’a law the only source of reference for human rights."

Only a person who was not born in the United States would commit such a fatuous act. Only a person who considers himself a citizen of the world willfully attempts to demolish the greatest republic and democracy in the world, America, as fast as he can. Apparently, this president is familiar with Niccolò Machiavelli’s work:

“When seeking office, the aspirant must pretend to be what he is not. After seizing power, he should impose his agenda quickly and ruthlessly before his subjects realize what he is doing and have time to react.”

President Obama, making his first visit to a Muslim nation as president, declared Monday "The United States is not and never will be at war with Islam. In fact, our partnership with the Muslim world is critical ... in rolling back a fringe ideology that people of all faiths reject."

Mr. President, first and foremost, you made a fool out of yourself again. Your ill-advised coziness with the Muslim nations will bring down our nation faster than any foreign enemy. America has never been at war with Islam. On the contrary, it is Islam that has waged a war with the infidels and wants to conquer the world. Below are some quotes from Islamists and academic or educational sources:

Mr. President, if you have not been exposed to Islamic history, (I think you have) please allow me to enlighten you briefly. The Arabs who sallied out of the Arabian deserts did not fan out to the outside world with the Quran in one hand and flowers in the other, preaching love and peace from street corner to street corner, thereby capturing the hearts and minds of the people. Islam was forced upon every people at the point of the sword and the imposition of backbreaking jazyyeh (special taxes) levied on those who were spared death and allowed to retain their religious beliefs. In spite of paying heavy Jazyyeh, the non-Muslims were treated, at best, as second-class citizens in their own homelands.

Mr. President, fourteen hundred years of Islamic terrorism is far too long for any people, although the Jews hold the record for that misfortune. The Jews have at long last returned to their homeland (and you have turned your back on them) even though they are still encircled by the vicious Arab Islamists who would like nothing better than to drown every last one of them in the sea, very much similar to the way the Islamists forced our Zoroastrian people out of the country or the remaining few to the edges of inhospitable desert.

As I mentioned before the election, it is shortsighted and even dangerous to lose our cool in the face of present problems by placing our full trust in a charismatic inexperienced man who promises a great deal that he will certainly fail to deliver. Did anyone listen?

Mr. President, it appears that you, as U.S. President, have a yearning to make friends with terrorist countries such as Syria and the Islamic Republic without any consideration of the savagery of their regimes against their people. On the other hand, I, as a citizen of America have an obligation to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.

I am a recent "shareholder" in this magnificent "company" -- United States of America. The charter that lights the path of this country is the constitution. I vehemently disagree with those who are more than willing to violate the constitution and call it little more than a body of suggestions that can be disregarded when expedient. To me, the constitution is our nation's most sacred document. It is the document that binds its vastly diverse constituents as equal loyal members.

I strongly feel that you, Mr. President, and your supporters have not abided by the explicit provisions of the constitution. You are creating a constitutional stand off. For this reason, I am launching my protest and am demanding that the truth about your eligibility to be the president of this great nation be conclusively established before we witness the end of this republic, which deeply troubles me and millions of my fellow Americans.

The certificate on your website is, at this point in time, just a picture. It has never been verified by any government agency. The state of Hawaii has never verified it.

The 10/31/08 statement from the Hawaii Department of Health does not say anything about where Obama was born. (it does NOT establish that Obama is Natural Born Citizen.) The Certificate of Live Birth, or COLB (a COLB is a completely different document, one that can be registered much later than at the time of birth) is in the possession of the Hawaii Department of Public Health and is also SEALED.

President Obama, based on what has been disclosed thus far, and your refusal to show your natural born birth certificate or COLB, it is obvious that you are not a natural born U.S. citizen. We the people have the perfect right, and the ineludible duty, to be completely certain that the current President is a natural born U.S. citizen, for we the people are the ultimate guardians of the constitution.

According to your grandmother and siblings, you were born in Kenya, and perhaps are an Indonesian citizen. Hence, you would be ineligible to be our President and represent the policy of the United States. Perhaps it would be expedient to pay attention to one of the most erudite constitutional professors in this country,

False Hope Trumps Good Sense

As each day of the new administration passes, the American taxpayer is driven deeper in debt, American savings, investment and retirement accounts lose more value, Washington DC leftists seize more control over private industries and private assets, and today, the Obama administration is directly engaged in the day to day management of multiple private corporations and industries.

Still, the average American has allowed a false sense of hope to trump simple common sense, which is clearly no longer common in America.

Obamanation Now Running GM, Chrysler and Banks

CNN reports Obama aides flunk GM and Chrysler. Having already given a failing grade to the US banking industry, and using trillions in new American taxpayer debt to purchase federal controlling interest in several of the nations biggest financial institutions, Obamanation is now dictating employment and payroll policy for the financial sector.

Obamanation is seizing control of America's largest manufacturing industry, the auto industry, firing GM CEO Rick Wagoner and forcing a merger between Chrysler and Fiat. Read Obama Forces Out GM CEO Wagoner.

Resident Obama steps to the White House microphone to announce that he is now running the auto industry, for the greater common good of the union employee, blaming the failure of capitalism, completely ignoring decades of labor union destruction of America's competitive edge over foreign manufacturers.

"We think we can have a successful U.S. auto industry. But it's got to be one that's realistically designed to weather this storm and to emerge-at the other end-much more lean, mean and competitive than it currently is," Obama said, as if the acting CEO of the US auto industry.

Though they refused immediate additional "bailout funds," Resident Obama placed the American taxpayer as the new guarantor of all auto industry product warrantees in an effort to promote the sale of union labor autos. However, the American taxpayer too, has already been bankrupted by the fed. They are in no position to guarantee all that Obama is committing them to.

Investor Reaction to Marxist Obamanomics

Predictably, the US stock market is down more than 260 points on the morning that Obama announces his seizure of the US auto industry, dropping another 40 points to 300 points down, in the minutes following Obama's brief televised speech.

The DOW hovers around 7500, having lost 1/3 of its value since Obama and his Democratic Socialists in the Congressional Progressive Caucus were fraudulently elected into unbridled control of the federal government.

The "toxic assets," aka subprime mortgages, that ignited the continued collapse of the US free market, were not created by Wall Street; they were created by Congressional Progressive Caucus, which forced otherwise responsible lenders to make irresponsible loans in the name of "low income community reinvestment." It was these same people who forced Fanny Mae and Freddie Mac to package and market "toxic" securities backed by those faulty loans.

Although the average American voter is clueless to all of it, the average intelligent investor isn't. They continue to ride the fed manipulated market up and down, taking profits where they can, as they retreat from a market no longer controlled by capitalist free market mechanisms.

As the nation's GDP shrinks, the fed rapidly grows at a record pace. As every American is forced to cut back, the fed is the only US entity which will not be tightening its belt in the coming months and years. Beyond George Soros, who is the only man in the world currently bragging about how much money he is making from international economic calamity; intelligent investors will never invest in such a Marxist takeover of American freedom...

From a Trillion to Ten Trillion in Debt, in six months!

Despite all political rhetoric begging the average American to remain positive about the future of their nation under leftist siege, Washington DC leftists currently running the nation into the toilet are planning for something less than stellar results from their Marxist economic strategy.

It took Washington leftists seventy years to place the American taxpayer a trillion dollars in debt via their endless stream of social engineering programs. It took Obamanation less than 90 days in power to quadruple that debt figure and before Obama can reach his first anniversary in the Oval Office, American taxpayers will find themselves TEN TRILLION in debt.

The increased spending is not paid for; it's borrowed from thin air and printed like monopoly money. It's taxpayer debt. China not only wants to buy no more of it, they will be asking for a new international currency in the London G20 Summit.

Fed Worries of coming Civil Unrest

The fed is rushing to put contingency plans in place for a number of threats that could and likely will result in massive domestic civil unrest.

After announcing a scheduled retreat from the "War on Terror" abroad, now renamed the "Overseas Contingency Operation" by the new administration, so as not to offend terrorists anymore, closing down Club Gitmo before deciding what to do with 250 known international terrorists, and using US tax dollars to bring Hamas refugees to American soil, the administration is rightfully very concerned about future terror strikes on the homeland.

Failing to stop rogue regimes that do regular business with terror groups, like North Korea and Iran, from acquiring WMD or testing long range missile technology, counter-terrorism experts now say that future massive terror strikes on the homeland are a matter of when, not if.

They are growing even more concerned with an increasing potential for civilian unrest among a growing number of American taxpayers clearly fed up with the intentional dismantling of all things American.

Angered by constant affronts to their constitution, their free market economy, their personal freedoms and ongoing threats against their individual liberties, people are stocking up on food, water, guns and ammo in record numbers.

Those willing to openly dissent against the current anti-American regime in Washington DC are being labeled "domestic terrorists" and the fed is making plans for how to deal with an outbreak of civil unrest, which is likely as economic conditions continue to deteriorate.

Only days after Army Times published Consequence Management Response Force to join Army Northern Command, CNN reported "The United States military's Northern Command, formed in the wake of the September 11 terrorist attacks, is dedicating a combat infantry team to deal with catastrophes in the U.S., including terrorist attacks and natural disasters. - The First Raiders will spend 2009 as the first active-duty military unit attached to the U.S. Northern Command since it was created. They will be based in Fort Stewart, Georgia, and focus primarily on logistics and support for local police and rescue personnel, the Army says."

"We need a lot more in our toolbox in order to deal with angry people on the street," said Col. Barry Johnson of U.S. Army North.

"The active-duty military has long had units capable of handling chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear or other domestic emergencies, such as hurricanes," Johnson said. "But they were assigned as needed. Now they will have a unit that knows in advance that it might be called upon to respond in a domestic emergency." - "We don't have the luxury to wish these things away. We have to imagine the unimaginable," Johnson said.

Is it weapons of mass destruction from enemies abroad that they are concerned with, or a well armed citizenry growing increasingly resistant to the daily diet of Marxist lies coming from their unconstitutional government run wild?

When the Best of Intentions Go Wrong

In post 9/11 America, national security measures such as the Patriot Act seemed both reasonable and necessary. The fact that our government had failed to thwart the events of 9/11 without these additional powers left many Americans not only willing to accept expanded federal authority, but clamoring for it.

No matter how well intentioned the reasoning for such massive powers might have been in the days and weeks following 9/11, those powers now rest in the hands of people who clearly have very questionable intentions...

The same weapons trained on international terrorists for the last eight years can quickly be turned upon American citizens deemed to be "domestic terrorists" by a leftist regime known not to be at all tolerant towards dissenting views.

We have watched the current regime in charge of Washington, destroy the lives of those willing to publicly dissent against their march into Marxism. With eyes wide shut, the average American watches his country slip away.

Baffled by a daily diet of Ivy League B.S. and backed into a corner, threatened with a soup line existence or worse, the average American chooses blind hope over common sense. Their gut tells them that something is very wrong in their country. They inherently know that the fed cannot spend us back to prosperity. But lost without a better idea, they hope it will work anyway...

They have been indoctrinated to believe that they are powerless; they are told to remain hopeful despite all of the facts; they are told that they cannot self-govern their way out of this mess and that only a messiah-like Ivy League leader can save them from the darkness...

If they refuse to Buy the Story?

Well, that would lead to eventual civil unrest, wouldn't it...?



Mass demonstrations, tax revolts, and calls for failed and unconstitutional government leaders to be removed from office, would result in the need for Martial Law to restore the public peace.

It sounds like a well written Hollywood conspiracy theory, doesn't it? Yet the events and evidence reported in this column are all real.

The US (and world) economy is hanging by a thread. Threats of renewed terror attacks on US soil are quite real. Government power is without any check or balance, and growing in unbridled evil by the hour. The American taxpayer is being driven deeper and deeper into unmanageable debt by the day. "We don't have the luxury to wish these things away. We have to imagine the unimaginable," Johnson said.

Do these facts add up to some other reasonable conclusion? Is there any other reasonable way to interpret these real events?

We live at a time when truth is stranger than fiction, I'm afraid. Don't worry about what conclusions I draw, or conclusions drawn by anyone else. Take the time to study these events and draw your own conclusion.

Time is short... The time to stand and be counted is here. The constitution either means what it says, or it means nothing at all. The republic is either worth saving or it isn't. No American will be able to sit this one out. Think I'm kidding about that?

Most Americans choose to believe that none of this is real and that nothing like this could ever happen in their country, just as they believed nothing like 9/11 could ever happen, on 9/10/01. Yet it is happening right in front of their eyes, out in the open in plain view, and they still can't see it...

If they can't see it, they won't fight it.

Obama plans to force your children into work programs with mandatory service, uniforms and an oath





The House passed a bill which includes disturbing language indicating young people will be forced to undertake mandatory national service programs as fears about President Barack Obama’s promised “civilian national security force” intensify.

The Generations Invigorating Volunteerism and Education Act, known as the GIVE Act, was passed yesterday by a 321-105 margin and now goes to the Senate.

Under section 6104 of the bill, entitled “Duties,” in subsection B6, the legislation states that a commission will be set up to investigate, “Whether a workable, fair, and reasonable mandatory service requirement for all able young people could be developed, and how such a requirement could be implemented in a manner that would strengthen the social fabric of the Nation and overcome civic challenges by bringing together people from diverse economic, ethnic, and educational backgrounds.”

Section 120 of the bill also discusses the “Youth Engagement Zone Program” and states that “service learning” will be “a mandatory part of the curriculum in all of the secondary schools served by the local educational agency”.
“The legislation, slated to cost $6 billion over five years, would create 175,000 “new service opportunities” under AmeriCorps, bringing the number of participants in the national volunteer program to 250,000.




It would also create additional “corps” to expand the reach of volunteerism into new sectors, including a Clean Energy Corps, Education Corps, Healthy Futures Corps and Veterans Service Corps, and it expands the National Civilian Community Corps to focus on additional areas like disaster relief and energy conservation,”

Obama's, No banker left behind

On Wall Street, that is. So hyped by advance fanfare, Timothy Geithner unveiled his Public-Private Investment Program (PPIP) on March 23, the latest in a growing alphabet soup of handouts topping $12.5 trillion and counting - so much in so many forms, in “gov-speak” language, with so many changing and moving parts, it’s hard for experts to keep up let alone the public, except to sense something is very wrong. They’re being fleeced by a finance Ponzi scheme, sheer flimflam, and here’s how from what we know:

– $400 billion in taking over Fannie and Freddie;

– $42 billion for the auto giants; billions more coming for their suppliers;

– approaching $200 billion for AIG with more coming on request;

– $350 billion to Citigroup in handouts and loan guarantees;

– tens of billions to other banks, including $87 billion to JP Morgan Chase for bad Lehman Brothers trades;

– $700 billion for TARP I; half the money released under TARP II;

– over $200 billion and counting for the Term Asset-Backed Securities Loan Facility (TALF) to extend government-guaranteed loans for investors to buy “certain AAA-rated asset-backed securities (as a) component” of the Consumer and Business Lending Initiative (CBLI), established under the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act (EESA) of 2008;

– the $787 billion stimulus under the American Recovery and Relief Act of 2009 (ARRA);

– around $300 billion under the Homeowner Affordability and Stability Plan (HASP) - the so-called mortgage bailout plan;

– $50 billion backing for short-term corporate IOUs held by money market funds - from the Exchange Stabilization Fund (ESF), a vehicle established by a provision in the 1934 Gold Reserve Act for foreign exchange intervention to stabilize the value of the dollar;

– $500 billion for various credit market rescues;

– $620 billion for industrial nations’ currency swaps;

– $120 billion for emerging economies’ currency swaps;

– $1.25 trillion for Fannie and Freddie mortgage backed securities;

– $200 billion for Fannie, Freddie, and Federal Home Loan Bank bonds;

– way more than the announced $300 billion for longer-term Treasuries (mostly with 7 - 10 year maturities); the Fed’s been buying billions of them since last year;

– Fed-expanded overnight lending to $2.4 trillion - free money at 0% interest;

– a reported $750 billion for banks in the FY 2010 budget - yet to be voted on and appropriated;

– a proposed $470 billion increase for the FDIC to borrow from the Treasury;

– perhaps hundreds of billions more in unannounced or hidden handouts in amounts and to whom the Fed and Treasury won’t say; on March 14, AIG named its big counterparties for the first time with firms like Goldman Sachs, Societe Generale, Deutsche Bank, and Barclays showing up prominently; and now

– PPIP - the latest gift to Wall Street courtesy of taxpayers getting none of the gain and all the pain.

A Treasury Fact Sheet explains it on its web site. In “gov-speak,” it cites the “challenge of legacy assets” comprised of (distressed commercial and household) “loans”/mortgages and (toxic) “securities” (mortgage-backed and others) with a new Public-Private Investment Program (PPIP) in conjunction with the FDIC and Fed to finance and guarantee it. The idea is to “repair balance sheets,” encourage banks to lend, and “help drive us toward recovery.” It expands TALF “to bring private investors back into the market” by offering deals too sweet to pass up:

– a public-private (open-ended) trillion dollar partnership with Washington contributing up to 95-97% of the cash and investors the other 3-5%;

– the Fed and FDIC (through low-cost loans and guarantees) acting as middlemen to transfer “legacy asset” losses to the public while buyers get government financing and guarantees (for no-risk investments) to purchase them on the cheap for themselves and well above fair value for the banks;

– PPIP particulars are for $100 billion in mostly TARP and some private capital with Fed and FDIC $500 billion in leverage financing to expand it to $1 trillion or more in purchasing power.

In a March 23 Wall Street Journal op-ed, Geithner called it “My Plan for Bad Bank Assets (to) increase the flow of credit and expand liquidity (and do it by) shar(ing) risk with the private sector (to) rid banks of legacy assets.” These “policies will work,” says Geithner, even though everything tried to date failed, and the only achievement is what they planned - the greatest ever wealth transfer in the shortest span of time, now increased by another trillion or more through PPIP and whatever else the masters of the universe have in mind.

“Toxic-Asset Plan Lifts Stocks,” headlined the Wall Street Journal, after surging around 7% on March 23 with banks and other financials in the lead, buoyed by the prospect of more free money, hundreds of billions for the taking, and plenty more where that came from.

If It Works, A Win-Win for the Money Trust

Here’s how economist Jeffrey Sachs explains it:

Geithner’s plan will have the Fed and FDIC “subsidize investors to buy toxic assets from the banks at inflated prices.” If done, it will be another in a series of massive wealth transfers in the hundreds of billions of dollars “to bank shareholders from taxpayers.” If investors incur losses, the Fed and FDIC will absorb them, meaning heads or tails they win.

“The investment funds will have the following balance sheet. For every $1 of toxic assets (bought), the FDIC will lend up to 85.7 cents, and the Treasury and private investors (only) 7.15 cents in equity to cover the remaining balance. FDIC loans will be non-recourse, meaning that if the toxic assets (bought) fall in value below the amount of FDIC loans, the investment funds will default on the loans and the FDIC will end up holding the toxic assets….”

In other words, “The FDIC is giving a ‘heads you win, tails the taxpayer loses’ offer to private investors.’ ” Economist Paul Krugman agrees calling it a one-way bet, “a disguised way to subsidize purchases of bad assets.”

Economist James Galbraith calls it another massive “ineffective” giveaway to banks with taxpayers getting hosed from a repackaged trash removal scheme that’s been around since last fall when Geithner, as New York Fed president, planned it with Wall Street CEOs. They see it as a temporary liquidity problem (which it’s not) so the idea is to clean up the system and get banks lending again. But here’s the rub:

“If Geithner’s plan to fix the banks would also fix the economy,” maybe the idea makes sense. “But no smart economist we know thinks that it will.” It’s a giant swindle, but that aside, Geithner has “five fundamental misconceptions:”

(1) The trouble with the economy is that banks aren’t lending, he says.

In fact, it’s because businesses and mainly households are way over-extended and “are now collapsing under the weight of it. As consumers retrench (of necessity), companies that sell to them (must also), thus exacerbating the problem. The banks, meanwhile, are lending,” just not as much as they used to.

“Also, the shadow banking system (securitization markets), which actually provided more funding to the economy than the banks, has collapsed.”

(2) The banks aren’t lending because their balance sheets are loaded with ‘bad assets.’

In fact, “banks aren’t lending (enough) because they have decided to stop making loans to people and companies who can’t pay them back” or don’t want more loans in the first place. They’re also scared that new debt will cause more write-offs, greater losses, and the threat they’ll be wiped out entirely. So their strategy is hunker down and wait for a better time to do business.

(3) Bad assets are “bad” because the market doesn’t understand how much they’re really worth.

In fact, they’re bad because “they are worth (lots) less than banks say they are.” A major factor is the near-30% drop in house prices wiping out over $5 trillion in valuations. Lenders want households to take losses because if they do it themselves they’ll be wiped out. So PPIP arranges it for them.

(4) Once “bad assets” are off balance sheets, banks will start lending again.

In fact, banks will stay cautious until the housing market and economy improve. So far, that’s nowhere in sight.

(5) Once banks start lending, the economy will recover.

In fact, house prices are falling, savings have been wiped out, huge job losses are continuing, and “consumers will have debt coming out of their ears” that will take years to work off.

Geithner’s plan just shifts debt from lenders to taxpayers “where it will sit until the government finally admits that a major portion will never be paid back.” Galbraith’s conclusion: Geithner’s plan is “extremely dangerous” besides being a scam to cheat the public. Why does Wall Street love it? Because it wrote it in the first place, so the whole scheme is arranged for its benefit - if it works.
